The Final Conference of the Project STUDY QUALITY IN TERMS OF MULTICULTURALISM IN THE BALTIC COUNTRIES (NPHZ-2017/10151)

26th October 2018, at Tallinn Health Care College, Estonia, was organised the final conference of the project ” Study quality in terms of multiculturalism in the Baltic countries ”  with participation of the teachers, an administrative staff from project’s partners institutions from Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania.

The main aim of the conference was to share information and the best practices on study quality in multicultural class, school/ university/education institution.

The presentation of the  Study Quality Assurance Model from the perspectives of a Teacher; Best practices on Study Quality in Terms of Multiculturalism;  a Handbook  “Study Quality in Terms of Multiculturalism in the Baltic Countries” were presented to the participants.

Andris Geidāns, from Latvia,  read a presentation ” The Hardship of Human Race – Finding the Common and Defining the Differences”. Joseph Grannum  talked about  3D Spatial Thinking as a Teaching Tool in a Multicultural Curriculum: Estonia-Jamaica Erasmus Plus Experience.

 It was organise an useful panel discussion with teachers from different countries. The main questions: what are the main challenges in multicultural  Classroom, what should re-trained were talked- about.

IInd meeting of NORDPLUS HORIZONTAL project participants in Turiba university

From 21st until 23rd of March Turiba University hosted meeting of Nordplus project „ Study quality in terms of multiculturalism in the Baltic countries”.

The project involves 10 partners from Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania: 6 universities of applied sciences, 1 university, 1 consortium of universities, 1 training center with primary, secondary, adult, and early childhood education programs and 1 integration/ migration foundation. The Baltic network work together to examine how internationalization and immigration influence the study quality in educational institutions, and to suggest suitable activities to ensure study quality under the circumstances of internationalization.

During the meeting in Riga partners continued the work on support materials which will be useful tools for any teacher working in multicultural classroom. Partners also participated in experience sharing with Turiba University representatives and participated in lecture about multiculturalism presented by Lecturer Andris Geidāns.

The outcomes of the project will be presented in the conference which will take place in Tallinn, Estonia in October 2018.
